The intricate work of completing the driveway to Dalplex is underway as we near the completion of the new Fitness Centre. 聽The intersection of Dalplex driveway and South Street is very busy for both vehicles and pedestrians.聽 We ask for everyone鈥檚 cooperation as this work progresses.聽 Most of the remaining work on the driveway is concrete curb and sidewalk.聽 This work does not progress as quickly as asphalt work.聽 The plan is to have the new permanent sidewalk and driveway, closest to the new building, open as soon as possible.聽 This will be the safest path for pedestrian and vehicular traffic to get to the Dalplex parking lot.聽 However, to get this open there will be approximately one week of concrete work (weather pending) to have this new route open.聽 Until then, pedestrians and vehicles are asked to heed new traffic signs.

In other construction updates, the building is almost weather tight.聽 Interior fit-up is progressing well.聽 Level 1 gyproc is mostly complete and preparation for tile work in the shower areas has started.聽 Level 2 steel stud and gypsum board walls are progressing. 聽聽Electrical connection to the Dalplex, where main power originates for Fitness Centre, is complete.聽 Steam connection to the central distribution steam lines is also complete.聽

The building is on track to open in early spring 2018.聽
