Empowering Agricultural Students through Blended Learning
Presented by: Professor Diane Dunlop, Business and Social Sciences

A blended learning format was used to boost academic achievement, motivation and satisfaction in the Principles of Microeconomics.Ìý Research supports blending in-class lecturing with more active learning strategies in undergraduate education.Ìý
Professor Dunlop will share how she uses a variety of interconnected techniques to enrich students’ independent and interdependent engagement and meaningful learning. Through her course evaluation students recommended more blended learning courses in their program.Ìý
The session will include discussion of advantages and challenges of blended learning and ways to boost student learning and academic achievement.Ìý Diane will raise the question, what factors would motivate faculty to redesign their courses to blended learning?Ìý The session will be stimulating, motivating and participative and allow significant time for questions and discussions.
