Free Ag Safety Course Offered at Nova Scotia FarmSafe Forum
Attention Nova Scotia farmers and students of agriculture! The Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA), the Canadian Federation of Agriculture (CFA), and exclusive corporate sponsor Farm Credit Canada (FCC) are teaming up with the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture and Farm Safety Nova Scotia to host FarmSafe Forum, a free, one-day event featuring a farm safety training course.
Many farmers want to know what risks exist in their workplace, but don鈥檛 necessarily know what to look for. FarmSafe Forum organizers want to help close that gap via an On-Farm Inspection Training Course, delivered by Glen Blahey, Agricultural Safety and Health Specialist for CASA.
The course features a comprehensive hazard identification process that farmers, farm managers, and students can use to identify risks and control hazards on the farm. Course material will be interwoven with farm safety presentations from Nova Scotia producers.
The course is being held in conjunction with Canadian Agricultural Safety Week (March 10 to 16, 2013). Farmers, students, and others interested in farm safety are welcome.
